Fridays are too quiet around here at Downtempo WHQ in San Francisco — we’re looking forward to the next season of Layer Tennis, our favorite way to be distracted on Fridays while watching two great designers battle it out.
If you haven’t checked out Layer Tennis yet, try starting with the Inman vs Hubacek final match and walking through each image with the audio commentary. Layer Tennis is a fascinating mix of designers (and design studios) promoting themselves while having fun, and the watching the concept of remix culture applied to a specific project. Beyond the designers remixing and riffing off of each other’s work, the audience is also voting in the winner via Twitter, and having their thoughts roll back into the Layer Tennis website.
Time to sign up for season tickets if you haven’t already. Is it Fall yet?
